Celebrating Together!

In a time of plenty of bad news, our pal Chip got some good news worth sharing! He is taking a new job that won't take him away from us or his family any more than his current job but that will give him a significant raise, in fact a raise double what he originally thought it would be! So happy for Chip and his family! Let's celebrate and thank God for this blessing together!

What a Meeting!

You missed an incredible meeting! We got a sneak preview of the drama called "Buggliaci" that will debut in the Penguin Room this weekend, talked about some upcoming elements and series, heard an AMAZING monolog by Fletch about identity, and laughed, cried, and prayed together. If you ask anyone who attended, there will be no denial of the presence of God throughout the course of the night. We had too many "concidences" to deny the Holy Spirit at work in our lives and our relationships to each other. Sad for those of you who missed it, but excited about the fall when we'll have more chances to meet and experience God together with more able to come!

Here's what's coming this weekend:
Penguin Room: Phil is directing Leslie K, Ryan, and Diane and her three girls Sissy, Billie and Leslie in the bug drama called "Bugliacci" that teaches the kids about the dangers of gossip.
Main stage: Dalene is directing Paul, Dave, Julie and I in "Coffee Conversations" that we all collaborated on writing based on our monologs from the last meeting and life experience.

Important dates coming up:
Please Note: The Creative Arts picnic has been moved from July 17th to August 7th. Unfortunately, this is the only time all year I’ll be out of town for a family reunion, so I won’t be able to be there now that the date is changed. So we will not have any meetings or get together’s in July. However, we will have our own Drama Team Fall Kickoff party (pic from last year above) once again in my back yard on Friday August 28th at 7pm. More details coming soon!

Turning Point All Stars Still Turning!

Luke Richey, Ryan Lutz and Brad Miller did a great job tonight in a drama for the Turning Point All-stars kids. A great lesson on how God takes care of us no matter what our circumstances...hmmm, sounds a little familiar...Andy Stanley? : ) Great job, team!

Bugs Still Buzzin' right along!

This weekend, Sherry narrated and directed a great bug drama about the power of words to hurt and heal. Johnny Johnson and Sammy Petersen did a great job as the "yuck bugs" who say mean words and learned how much they can hurt when they're on the receiving end. Kelly Geisel was the beautiful "Utterfly" who pops in to show them the power of healing words of encouragement. It's already sparked great conversation between Lauren and I. Thanks, team for giving of your time and talent to help raise the future generation by teaching them Godly principles. It makes a difference!

Bugzzzzz R Off 2 a great start!

Sierra, Cayla, and Jake kicked off the first of six bug dramas in the Penguin Room this weekend under the direction of Dalene. This is going to be an awesome summer of crazy bugs, and it started off with a bang! Great job, team!

Small Parts

Baptism in India 2009 from Gene Ort on Vimeo.

There's a saying in the Theatre "There are no small parts; only small actors." Watching this video of baptisms in India humbles me. The excellent art we produce as a team helps to compel people to give to the cause of furthuring God's kingdom in India. Our tithes, our time, our talents, are small parts in the big things God is doing. What a privilege!

Behind the Scenes

Four Words from Granger Community on Vimeo.

Paul, Dave, Greg, Shelley, Marlene and unbelievable job in the first wed. media about the four word: take, bless, break and give. Unfortunately, I don't have any cool snapshots of them in action, but I do have some fun shots of a couple of weeks ago when a few cool ladies and their daughters took some time to hang out with Lauren and I to make the wall! I love those behind the scenes people just as much, don't you? Thanks to Sarah, Madison, Michelle, Maddie, Whitney, Belle, Dalene, Dawn, Breanna, Theresa, Lexi, Lauren and the countless number of people who contributed to this awesome project! What a cool illustration of the beautiful mosaic of the church both in product and in process! Way to go, team!
