Update on Katie Rose

Kyle and Jeannette and Katie are in room 444 at Memorial Hospital. Visiting hours are between 11am and 8pm. The number to their room is 647-2498. Lauren and I will be stopping by today after school with a gift from the team. I'll try to control my jealousy enough to restrain myself from kidnapping her (say a prayer for me!) "Thou shalt not covet they neighbors adorable babies" . . . : )

Here's a note and link to more some photos that Kyle sent:

"Katie Rose Sagarsee was born April 28th at 5:41 PM by emergency C-Section and weighed 8lbs 7oz and is 21 inches long. She and Jeanette are doing great, and can't wait to see all of you. Thank you all for your prayers through out this. Your friendship means more than you could know."

Baby Katie has arrived!

Katie Rose (8lbs. 7oz.)was born today at 5:41pm today to a proud mama and papa. Both mom and baby are doing well. Yay Baby Katie! Jon Crutchfield thinks she'll grow up to be a "drama" queen. For now, she'll just be a little drama princess . . .

Meeting Tonight!

Hey guys,

Tonight is our last meeting for a few months. Please bring your books since we're finishing up the last chapter this evening and will be doing some fun activities to stretch our views of rhythm and pacing in a scene. We will not be having meetings in May, June, and July to take some time off for the summer, but, of course, we will continue to serve together throughout the summer on weekends and media shoots! Sometime in July we will have our summer picnic get together, so be watching for those dates.

DON'T MISS OUR LAST MEETING UNTIL AUGUST! TONIGHT AT 7PM IN THE HEIR FORCE ROOM!

See you there!

What a Party! A Mario Party, that is!

What a party we had this weekend! Awesome jobs by all three dramas!
Janet, along with her husband Bruce and friend Tom did storytelling in the Under the Sea and Garden Patch rooms. Lauren had a blast learning about Paul and Silas.
Sherry, Marlene, Cayla, Levi and Carolyn performed a very prop heavy drama in the Heir Force room drama directed by Dalene and did an awesome job of engaging the audience and teaching a great lesson about forgiveness.
And of course who could forget our crazy live mario element on the main platform! Awesome job, Brad, Chris, Lisa, Steph, Aleyna, Alli, Amy, Jackie and Kelsey!

Thanks for all of your servant hearts that provided us a great weekend upstairs and down!

Bravo for the Weekend drama!

(pics to come)
Join me in applauding Butch, Julia, Shelley, and Josh on their stellar performances in the weekend drama! What a great, relatable representation of differing points of view in a family arguement. I was so impressed with the acting ranges that were specifically displayed by Butch and Julia in the pendulum of the three different live elements. Way to go, team!

This weekend is also jam-packed! Stop in to encourage your teammates and future teammates from the OPA team!
Janet will be doing storytelling in the Under the Sea and Garden Patch rooms.
Sherry, Marlene, Cayla, Levi and Carolyn will be in the Heir Force room drama directed by Dalene.
And Brad, Chris, Lisa, Steph (and her three girsl Aleyna, Alli, and Amy) and Jackie and Kelsey will be on the weekend platform in a crazy live version of Super Mario Brothers!

See you next Monday the 28th at the meeting!

Choose Your Own Adventure

Our next meeting is April 28th, and our next chapter will be about Rhythm and pacing in scenes. We've talked a lot about our tendancy to draw out a scene a bit too long or slow the pacing down too much. So . . .

What kinds of assignments, team-building activities, or discussions would you like to see at the meeting and in our last two months before summer?

This time it's up to you! So bring on the feedback, cast a vote, let your voice be heard.

Great Advice, Great Article, Great GCC Family!

Our very own Janell Martin has written a great article on parenting.

(And we know it's a credible source since she has two amazing kids who do a lot for Gcc in facilities (Elizabeth) and the media department-Albert! Janell helps with directing children's drama and has helped with producing in the past. This writing job is a new venture for Janell. Let's support her! Here's a note from Janell:

Hello family and friends!

I've just begun a new job, writing for an online magazine. I get paid by how many people view, rate, share, print, (etc.) my articles. Would you help me out by taking a look at them? A link to my most recent article is below. Once you go there, you'll see my picture at the side. Clicking the link beside my picture that says "See my other articles" give you a list view of others I've written. I've only written three so far, but more are coming.

I appreciate your help. Once you read an article, if you know anyone who might be interested, you can use the Email button to send it to them.

Also, if you have facebook or other sites shown on the Save/Share, posting it there would be much appreciated as well. (If you have no idea what I'm talking about then you probably don't have that, so don't worry about it!)

Thanks again,
Janell"

Another Penguin Room Hit!

Special Thanks to Hannah Brooks, Sierra Arredondo and Cayla Stuteville on their great performances in the Penguin room! And special Thanks to Dalene for directing these amazing girls to bring the teachings of Jesus to an age appropriate level for a great group of kids! Bravo, girls!
(Sorry no picture, I was sick and didn't want to "bless" anyone with my ailment!)
