Wish You Were Here!

Hello, Awesome Team! Howdy from our Innovate Conference. Since all of you have busy lives and couldn't make it to our conference, I thought I'd bring a taste of it to you! We had some cool moments from our team. Here's a few glimpses:

We opened the conference with a crazy fun dance element with black lights that told the story of a team that pitched their "ideas" (different dance styles) and fought to win, but ended up coming together when they took some time to listen for God's guidance. It was crazy and fun and full of talented people. Amy Franklin did an amazing job choreographing and selling her mad tapping skills. DC and Brooke Curry brought some amazing athleticism and dance moves only they could. Ted Bryant played our boss and, for a professor of Psychology, homeboy knows how to shake what his mama gave him (so to speak). Our own Seth Bible added some tremendous energy with his back flips, hard work, and actually jumped over DC's head from a standing position! It was an incredible way to open the conference and get people fired up! They were amazing.

Then, thanks to our fearless leaders knack for comedic timing and writing, we had a hilarious drama about a board meeting where one of the pastors comes in to report that the church is on fire, but the board is too busy with parliamentary procedures to actually take time to rescue themselves and anyone else in the building. This was a tight fit with our theme for this year which was "Stop Talking; Start Doing". As you can see form the pics, even though Butch is our leader, he's not afraid to get down in the dirt, or in this case, the ash. My sides still hurt from laughing at his commitment to the panic of the church on fire. Mark Meyer was hilarious as the staunch chairman who led the meeting with a dry pace that made Butch's situation even more ridiculous. Shelley played "Miss Becky" and was hysterical with her facial expressions and characterization of a typical "church lady". Brad Miller, Brian Davis, and Tom Templin also had me laughing with their commitments to their characters, hilarious expressions and death scenes. Great job, team!
